The meat in this 'fully cooked' chicken may be raw, USDA says don't eat it

Patriot-News - 2/6/2023

A variety of stuffed chicken breasts that are labeled "fully cooked" should not be eaten because the meat may be undercooked.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture'sFood Safety and Inspection Service issued a public health alert about Park Street Deli boneless skinless chicken breast stuffed with broccoli and cheddar au gratin instead of a recall because the food is no longer available to purchase.

The FSIS said the chicken "may not be fully cooked due to underprocessing."

According to the FSIS, the dish was produced by Vanguard Culinary Group of Fayetteville, N.C., and was shipped to retail locations in Alabama, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia. The FSIS did not give details about where those retail locations are.

The chicken comes in a 1-pound vacuum-sealed package with a use-by date of Jan. 30, 2023. The packages have the establishment number "P-8334 inside the USDA mark of inspection.

"The problem was discovered when consumers reported to FSIS that the product labeled as fully cooked appeared to be raw."

The chicken should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
