Ontario County Public Health: 25 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday

HOPEWELL — Ontario County Public Health is reporting 25 new community-acquired COVID-19 cases March 3 but no new deaths.

Since the start of the pandemic, 5,845 Ontario County residents have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and 100 people have died.

Many of the cases are related household contacts, school-age students, college students, travel to Florida and community cases.

There are 176 COVID-19 positive individuals who are being isolated. This is in addition to 329 mandatory quarantines (contacts of positive cases), totaling 505 in the isolation and quarantine category.

There are 23 people in the hospital, and admissions equaled discharges Wednesday.

With 50 recoveries in the last 24 hours, 5,579 recoveries have been reported since the start of the pandemic.

There are 382 registered travelers and 890 negative tests.
