Ontario County Public Health: 27 new COVID-19 cases

HOPEWELL — Ontario County Public Health is reporting 27 new COVID-19 cases and for the fourth day in a row, no new deaths.

All of the new cases are community acquired, and brings the total number of Ontario County residents who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic to 5,392. There have been 99 deaths reported since last March.

Many of the new cases are related household contacts, college students and community cases.

There are 307 COVID-19 positive individuals who are being isolated. This is in addition to 382 mandatory quarantines (contacts of positive cases), totaling 689 in the isolation and quarantine category.

There are 28 people in the hospital, and with 37 recoveries reported in the last 24 hours, there have been 4,992 recoveries reported since the start of the pandemic.
