Orlando Sentinel - 11/21/2019

Nearly 100,000 pounds of salad products, including some shipped to Florida, were recalled over E. coli contamination fears, the federal government announced Thursday.

The recalled products contain meat or poultry and include several brand names, found on this list.

Lettuce tested positive for E. coli in a package of Ready Pac Bistro Chicken Raised Without Antibiotics Caesar Salad in Maryland, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said.

Swedesboro, N.J. based Missa Bay is recalling about 97,272 pounds of salad products produced from October 14 through 16.

They were also shipped to Alabama, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia and Wisconsin.

E. coli poisoning can cause diarrhea and vomiting, and in more severe cases, severe infection or kidney failure.
